On the 20th of October at half past midnight the 4AHMBA, the 4BHMBA and their form teachers Mrs. Petra Resch and Mrs. Elisabeth Krenn began their journey to Ireland.

 Language trip to Ireland

Day 1:

We spent the first day almost exclusively travelling, beginning with a 4-hour bus trip to Bratislava. We then took a plane from there directly to Dublin and arrived at about half past eight.

Our next destination was the Cliffs of Moher. The weather was bad at first but then got better over time. It was a breathtaking sight.

After that our bus driver Martin took us straight to Galway, were we explored the area around Eyre Square and then spent the night at the Sleepzone hostel.

Day 2:

On the second day our first and only destination were the Aran Islands. Our method of travel was a ferry. Some of us explored the whole island per bike, while others simply enjoyed the view. Back in Galway, most of us spent the evening in the pub area again.

Day 3:

On the way from Galway back to Dublin we stopped at the old Celtic town ruins of Clonmacnoise were we got a short tour. By the time we got to our host families it was already evening. For the rest of the day we had free time.

Day 4:

The fourth day was the first day we went to our language school, where we were split into groups of 15 and each group got a language teacher. In the afternoon we had a “Easter Rising” tour through the center of Dublin. At roughly half past seven pm the 4AHMBA met up at the local Leisureplex for some bowling and other fun games.

Day 5:

In the morning of the fifth day we had school again before we met up in the city center for a street quiz. After that was over, we made our way to the cliffs of Howth for a cliff walk to round out the day.

Day 6:

After school on the sixth day most of us visited the old Kilmainham Jail for an hour-long tour. Later that day we went to watch the Grey Hound dog races where some of us even bet.

Day 7:

On Friday our main programme, besides school, was the museum of archeology where we were asked to answer some questions. Then we had free time for the rest of the day again, with only the 4BHMBA having their turn of bowling at the Leisureplex.

Day 8:

On the eight day we stood up early to start our journey back home. We arrived in Kaindorf at approximately half past five.

Overall, our language trip was very impressive and exciting. It was just a great experience!
